Before you can began installing you'll need to have a working version of OSQA. To do so just go to our Downloading OSQA page

Those dependencies can be installed using python setup tools (easy_install) or your operating system package manager (if you're using linux).

Be sure to read through the questions posted on [meta.osqa.net] and try posting your own questions. You can also join one of the OSQA mailing lists athttp://lists.osqa.net/mailman/listinfo/dev or http://lists.osqa.net/mailman/listinfo/users.
Decide which modules you want to DISABLE. Each module adds a specific piece of functionality to OSQA. All modules are enabled by default, so you have to disable the modules that you do not want included. If any module doesn't meet the required dependencies, it will not load.

Other than settings_local.py the following will most likely need customization:
Edit the "send_email_alerts" file in OSQA's cron folder to meet your needs. Then set up a cron job to call send_email_alerts once or twice a day. Your subscription sender can be tested manually in the shell by calling cron/send_email_alerts
